Extreme Fatigue: Advice to People Suffering from Chronic Tiredness
Extreme fatigue strangles the joyous life that many people want to live. Millions of people today are just plain exhausted. The medical establishment has been unable to find the causes of extreme fatigue and because of this no treatments are available.
Patients often go to their doctor and when nothing wrong shows up, the physician proclaims that it’s all in their head and writes a script for a depression drug. Depression can lead to tiredness but it’s only a symptom and extreme fatigue is caused by many different things not functioning well.
There is little agreement as to the causes of extreme fatigue and there are many ideas about what the causes may be:
* failure to cope with stress
* a breakdown in the neuroendocrine system
* post-viral illness
* a breakdown in the neuroendocrine system
* free radical damage
* free radical damage
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Causes Haven’t Been Uncovered
Clinicians have their hands tied behind their backs because there are no effective therapies available. Some doctors will try diet change, exercise, or cognitive treatments to try to help people regain some normal function.
In all of our cells there are very small power-houses called mitochondria that produce all the energy we need to live. They process the products of food breakdown and combine them with oxygen to produce energy. Some research now implicates mitochondrial dysfunction in fatigue through a process called oxidative stress.
This is just a term that implies that fuel processing is disrupted. One potential causative agent that is just beginning to be explored is pharmaceutical drugs. We live in a drug-addicted world and the primary role of doctors is to write prescriptions.
Mitochondrial function is susceptible to toxic exposure and prescribed drugs do have toxic side-effects. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are examples of drugs that disrupt mitochondrial function. Other drugs can lead to the production of free radicals which penetrate and break down the membranes that make up the cell and mitochondrial walls. In this example, there are now disturbances in the flow of ions in and out of these structures.
Potassium and sodium are minerals and are known as ions since their movements create an electrical charge. Electrical charges are the fundamental functional part of living beings. The mitochondria are the target of many cancer drugs. Extreme fatigue in cancer patients arises because of poisoning of the mitochondria.
Novel Approaches in the Battle to Stave Off Extreme Fatigue
Although medicine has been trying to understand what causes chronic fatigue, its quest has failed to turn anything up. In addition, since there are no known causes, there are no known or effective treatments for fatigue and its more serious forms, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.
Therefore, it seems that we have to enter the non-medical world to seek effective treatments. Some of the possibilities include:
* overview of our exposure to environmental pollutants
* advanced detoxification programs (homeopathic remedies are best for this)
* homeopathic remedies, particularly the class of remedies known as drainage remedies
* advanced acupuncture programs such as electro-meridian imaging rather than classical acupuncture
* exercise, particularly tai chi
* advanced acupuncture programs such as electro-meridian imaging rather than classical acupuncture
* homeopathic remedies, particularly the class of remedies known as drainage remedies
* an evaluation of prescription drug use to reduce toxic exposure
* advanced acupuncture programs such as electro-meridian imaging rather than classical acupuncture
Hundreds of people were analyzed in the Body Burden Study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control. The purpose of the study was to determine the extent of how many environmental pollutants had accumulated in our bodies. The final outcome was that 98% of the people enrolled in the study had significant accumulations of over 200 tested toxins.
Elimination of toxins is the primary goal of many practitioners who don’t follow the guidelines and practices of modern medicine. They use many products that medicine frowns upon such as homeopathic remedies. In the case of the CDC, no one addressed the potential hazards of having pollutants in our bodies.
We are all exposed every day to a large number of environmental pollutants which are wreaking our health. Unfortunately, few people know anything about this and fewer yet know what to do to combat it. Modern medicine doesn’t recognize this problem and only a few people working in alternative medicine understand and accept the concept of “pollution poisoning” as a cause of extreme fatigue.
